Following the recent gazetting of the 2016 public holidays in the last of Spain's autonomous regions, the national government of Spain has gazetted its annual list of official national non-working public holidays (calendario laboral) in Spain for the upcoming calendar year 2016.
The aforementioned "Resolución de 19 de octubre de 2015, de la Dirección General de Empleo, por la que se publica la relación de fiestas laborales para el año 2016." which was gazetted yesterday (in the BOE-A-2015-11348, Núm. 253, Jueves 22 de octubre de 2015, Sec. I. Pág. 98878-81) of nationwide 2016 non-working public holidays in Spain is supplemented by 2 additional non-working public holidays declared by each of Spain's autonomous regions (2015-10-08, 2015-10-05, 2015-09-22, 2015-09-18,..., 2015-04-15, 2015-04-11, 2015-03-28, and 2015-02-21), as well as 2 municipal non-working public holidays for each municipality.
Despite indications, a couple of years ago (2013-11-18), that some mid-week public holidays might be moved to adjoin a nearby weekend, as had been raised shortly after the current government was elected (2012-01-12), no such move was made in 2016.
