The President of Uzbekistan, Islam Karimov, has signed the resolution "On shifting day-off in connection with the celebrations of the 24th anniversary of Uzbekistan's Independence" which declares Monday, August 31, 2015, as a one-off non-working public holiday in Uzbekistan, in connection with the annual, September 1st, Independence Day non-working public holiday in Uzbekistan.

As usual in such cases of declaring one-off non-working public holidays in Uzbekistan (2012-03-20, 2011-12-27, 2011-08-25, 2011-03-01, 2009-11-25, 2008-12-25, 2007-12-25, 2006-05-01, 2005-12-28 and 2005-12-05), though not all (2014-12-26), the aforementioned non-working public holiday on Monday, August 31, 2015, is to be compensated by having Satuday, August 29, 2015, declared as a regular working day in Uzbekistan.
