The Acting Director of the Banking Services Directorate of the Central Bank of Bahrain, Hesa Abdulla Al Sada, has announced that the Central Bank of Bahrain had declared bank holidays in Bahrain for Friday and Saturday, December 16 an 17, 2016, to mark the upcoming annual National Day bank holiday and the Bahrain bank holiday for the Anniversary of the accession to the throne of King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
As was the case some previous years (2011-12-13 and 2010-12-12), but not all (2015-12-13, 2014-12-13 and 2013-12-12), the aforementioned dates coincide with the Friday and Saturday weekly days of rest in Bahrain (2006-08-02), leading Acting Director of the Banking Services Directorate of the Central Bank of Bahrain to add that "the Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB) will remain closed on Sunday, 18th December, 2016 and Monday, 19th December, 2016 (in place of Friday and Saturday) and will resume operations on Tuesday, 20th December, 2016", as was recently announced by Bahrain's Prime Minister, Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, in his circular declaring non-working public holidays in Bahrain to mark the upcoming annual National Day and the 17th Anniversary of the accession to the throne of King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa (2016-12-14).
