Botswana 2017 Public Holidays Announced

The government of Botswana has released its annual list of official non-working bank holidays and public holidays in Botswana for the upcoming calendar year 2017.

As usual (2016-09-03, 2014-12-25, 2014-01-01, 2013-01-15 and 2012-01-21), the aforementioned announcement of the list of official non-working public holidays in Botswana for the upcoming calendar year 2017, could later be amended due to elections (2014-10-16, 2014-08-07 and 2009-09-07), one-off bridge public holidays (2008-04-16), or one-off government holidays (2015-12-23), though the recent declaration of Tuesday, January 3, 2017, would be a day in lieu non-working public holiday in Botswana (2016-12-16) is in line with Section 2 (ii) of the Botswana Public Holidays Act CAP 03:07, which provides that if January 2nd, October 1st or Boxing Day falls on a Monday, then following Tuesday shall be observed as a public holiday.
