The Minister of Labour ("Ministre du Travail et de la sécurité sociale") of the Central African Republic, Gaston Mackouzangba, has issued a communiqué ruling-out the declaration of Monday, December 26, 2016, and/or Monday, January 2, 2017, as additional non-working public holidays in the Central African Republic due to the upcoming annual Christmas and New Year public holidays of the Central African Republic falling on a Sunday.

The clarification that neither Monday, December 26, 2016, nor Monday, January 2, 2017, would be declared as additional non-working public holidays in the Central African Republic, follows the declaration of 2 new annual non-working public holidays in the Central African Republic in the past 2 years: the Aïd el Adha or Feast of Sacrifice (2016-09-11) and the Aïd el Fitr or End of Ramadan (2015-07-16).
