The Vice-Prime Minister of the RDC (République Démocratique du Congo), Willy Makiashi, has declared Saturday, April 30, 2016, as a one-off day in lieu non-working public holiday to compensate the annual, May 1st, RDC public holiday falling on a Sunday in 2016.
The aforementioned announcement (la journée du 30 avril est déclarée chômée et payée sur toute l'étendue du territoire national dans le cadre de la célébration de la journée consacrée au travail) of a one-off day in lieu non-working public holiday, due to the May 1st RDC public holiday falling on a Sunday, in 2016, is in line with the previously-announced (2016-01-06), annual list of the non-working public holidays in the DRC for the calendar year 2016, as well as with the Ordonnance no 71-326 du 31 décembre 1971 fixant les jours fériés légaux and the Ordonnance Présidentielle n° 79/154 du 23 juin 1979, as well as what was done on past occasions when a DRC public holiday fell on a Sunday (2016-01-14, 2015-05-12 and 2010-01-15).
