Ecuador's Minister of Tourism (Ministro de Turismo) has issued a communique confirming that the upcoming August 10, Primer Grito de Independencia, annual public holiday of Ecuador is a compulsory annual non-working public holiday in Ecuador which will be observed, this year, on Friday, August 12, 2016.

The aforementioned announcement that the upcoming August 10, Primer Grito de Independencia, annual public holiday of Ecuador is a compulsory annual non-working public holiday in Ecuador which will be observed, this year, on Friday, August 12, 2016, is in line with the Decreto No.858, which was released late last year (2015-12-29), by Ecuador's Presidency, and specifies the dates of Ecuador's non-working public holidays for the calendar years 2016-2020.
