Ghana's Minister of the Interior, Prosper Bani, has announced that Ghana's President, John Dramani Mahama, had declared Monday, December 27, 2016, and Monday, January 2, 2017, as a statutory non-working public holidays in Ghana on account of the upcoming December 25 and January 1 annual public holidays in Ghana, falling on a weekend.

The aforementioned announcement that Monday, December 27, 2016, and Monday, January 2, 2017, were statutory non-working public holidays in Ghana on account of the upcoming December 25 and January 1 annual public holidays in Ghana, falling on a weekend, is in line with the list of official 2016 non-working public holidays in Ghana, announced earlier this year (2016-01-01).
