The Office of Communication of the Presidency of Haiti (Bureau de la communication de la Primature) has announced that Haiti's President has issued an Executive Order declaring Monday, October 17, 2016, as a non-working public holiday throughout Haiti to coincide with this year's public holiday of Haiti commemorating the death of the Emperor Jean-Jacques Dessalines.

Today's announcement that Haiti's President had issued an Executive Order declaring Monday, October 17, 2016, as a non-working public holiday throughout Haiti to coincide with this year's public holiday of Haiti commemorating the death of the Emperor Jean-Jacques Dessalines, is in line with Haiti's current public holidays legislation (2003-06-16).
