Late last night, the Secretary of Malaysia's State of Johor announced that the government of Malaysia's State of Johor had declared that Monday, October 31, 2016, would be a one-off additional non-working public holiday in the State of Johor, to celebrate their winning of the Malaysia Cup against Selangor.

Malaysian states often declare one-off non-working public holidays on account of football and sport victories (2016-09-24, 2016-05-14, 2015-12-12, 2015-12-12, 2015-10-31, 2015-05-19, 2014-11-02, 2013-11-01, 2013-10-30, 2013-06-13, 2012-10-15, 2012-07-18, 2012-05-14, 2011-11-21, 2011-06-13, 2011-06-11, 2010-12-30, 2010-12-29, 2010-10-30, 2009-11-04,...), in particular the Malaysian states of Kedah, Kelantan, Terengganu, and Johor (2013-11-23), where the day after most important matches, Sunday, is a regular working day.
