Johor September 25 Public Holiday Ruled-Out

The State Secretary of Malaysia's State of Johor, Datuk Ismail Karim, has announced that the government of Malaysia's State of Johor would not, this time, declare Sunday, September 25, 2016, as a one-off additional non-working public holiday in Malaysia's State of Johor, to celebrate today's earlier win by Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) of the Super League title for the third consecutive year.

Malaysian states often declare one-off non-working public holidays on account of football victories (2016-05-14, 2015-12-12, 2015-12-12, 2015-10-31, 2015-05-19, 2014-11-02, 2013-11-01, 2013-10-30, 2013-06-13, 2012-10-15, 2012-07-18, 2012-05-14, 2011-11-21, 2011-06-13, 2011-06-11, 2010-12-30, 2010-12-29, 2010-10-30, 2009-11-04,...), in particular the Malaysian states of Kedah, Kelantan, Terengganu, and Johor (2013-11-23), where the day after most important matches, Sunday, is a regular working day.
