The Central Bank of Jordan has issued the "Memorandum to Licensed Banks" (No. 12/2016, ref 10/2/5892) which announces a bank holiday in Jordan on Sunday, May 1st, 2016, on account of the annual non-working Jordanian public holiday of Labor Day.
The aforementioned announcement of a bank holiday in Jordan on Sunday, May 1st, 2016, on account of the annual non-working Jordanian public holiday of Labor Day ("On the occasion of Labor Day, the Central Bank of Jordan and licensed banks will be closed on Sunday, May 1, 2016."), is in line with the released (2015-10-22), list of annual non-working bank holidays and public holidays in Jordan for the calendar year 2016, although it often happens (2015-04-22, 2013-04-19, 2013-01-17, 2012-04-24 and 2006-04-25), though not systematically (2010-04-27 and 2005-04-25), that mid-week public holidays, in particular the Labour Day non-working public holiday of Jordan, is moved to the nearest weekend.
