The government of Kazakhstan has released its annual official list of non-working public holidays in the Republic of Kazakhstan for the calendar year 2016.

As was the case last year (2015-01-17), the aforementioned announcement of the official list of non-working public holidays in the Republic of Kazakhstan for the calendar year 2016 does not, this time, confirm the days in lieu public holidays that will be declared in 2016 to compensate the 2016 Kazakhstan public holidays that fall on a weekend.

In line with most previous years (2015-01-17, 2013-12-26, 2013-02-18 and 2011-01-14), but not all (2012-02-17), the announced list of non-working public holidays in the Republic of Kazakhstan for the calendar year 2016 does specify the date of the Kurban-Eid (Feast of Sacrifice).

The cancellation of the October 25 public holiday, officialized 7 years ago (2009-04-25 and 2009-03-04) is re-confirmed, and the new, May 7, Homeland Defender Day, annual non-working public holiday in Kazakhstan (2012-10-19) is also confirmed.
