    Singapore's Ministry of Manpower (MOM) has released the official list of non-working Singapore public holidays and bank holidays in Singapore for the upcoming calendar year 2027.

    The 2027 list of public holidays, for once, lists the 2 Muslim public holidays of Singapore, in line with the October 2021 MUIS (Majilis Ugama Islam Singapura) communique stating that Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore had "agreed to adopt revised criteria of the astronomical calculation for the determination of the Islamic calendar from year 2022 onwards.".

    The Ministry of Interior has announced that it had recently advised and proposed amendments and additions to the Labor Code, including a provision allowing the Prime Minister to specifically decide on all public holidays depending on the actual situation, and with the Ministry of Interior playing a direct advisory role.

    Currently, Vietnam's Prime Minister decides on the specific dates for the Lunar New Year holiday and National Day.

    Bahrain's Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, has issued a circular announcing the date of the upcoming Ashura public holidays.

    As per the aforementioned statement, "all ministries, government departments, agencies, and public institutions in the Kingdom will be closed on Thursday and Friday, 25 and 26 June.", adding that "As Friday falls on an official holiday, it will be compensated with a holiday on Sunday, 28 June".

    The Administration of the Government of India's Union Territory of Chandigarh has announced a public holiday on Thursday, June 18, 2026, to mark Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji's martyrdom day.

    As per the official notification issued by Home Secretary, Diprava Lakra, "In partial modification of this Administration’s Notification No. 6/1/1-IH(I)-2025/17488-95, dated 30.12.2025 regarding declaring of Public Holidays in the Union Territory of Chandigarh during the calendar year 2026, the 18th June, 2026 (Thursday) will now be observed as Public Holiday in all the Government Offices/ Boards/Corporations/ Institutions including Industrial Establishments under the Chandigarh Administration on account of Martyrdom day of Sri Guru Arjun Dev Ji instead of Restricted Holiday (already declared)".

    The Chief Secretary to the Government of India's State of Andhra Pradesh has issued the vide notifications G.O.Rt.No.1176 and G.O.Rt.No.1177 moving the date of the upcoming Muharram public holiday from Thursday, June 25, to Friday, June 26, 2026, based on a request by the Chief Executive Officer of the Andhra Pradesh State Waqf Board.
