Following an earlier announcement by Dar Al-Fatwa, the Prime Minister of the Government of Lebanon has declared Wednesday, October 12, 2016, as the date of the annual non-working public holiday in Lebanon, to mark Achoura in 2016, a day later than the previously-announced date of the Achoura public holiday of Lebanon for the calendar year 2016.
The aforementioned announcement that the non-working public holidays in Lebanon for the calendar year 2016 for the upcoming Achoura annual non-working public holiday in Lebanon would be moved to Wednesday, October 12, 2016, thus further modifies the annual list of Lebanese non-working bank holidays and public holidays in Lebanon for the calendar year 2016, released and later amended earlier this year (2016-09-09, 2016-07-05, 2016-03-21, 2016-02-27 and 2016-01-07), based in part on the Government of Lebanon's announced annual list of official Lebanese non-working public holidays in Lebanon for the upcoming calendar year 2016 (2015-11-29).
