The Chief Minister of Malaysia's State of Sarawak, Patinggi Tan Sri Adenan Satem, has announced that his government "is set to make July 22 a public holiday[in Sarawak]in recognition of those who helped fight for independence from British rule in 1963".
Today's announcement follows last month's announcement (2016-02-13), in which the Chief Minister of Malaysia's State of Sarawak, Patinggi Tan Sri Adenan Satem, announced that Sarawak State had requested from the Malaysian federal government that July 22 be declared a state non-working public holiday in Malaysia's State of Sarawak.
