Manipur 2017 Public Holidays Announced

The Government of India's state of Manipur has announced its annual list of the days which will be non-working public holidays in India's state of Manipur for the upcoming calendar year 2017 ("List Of General Holidays For 2017 (Saka) 1938/1939 For Govt. Of Manipur").

The aforementioned notification of the annual list of the days which will be non-working public holidays in India's state of Manipur for the upcoming calendar year 2017, are contained in a Notification issued by the Administration department of the Government of Manipur and divided into 3 annexures, covering Government Holidays, Public Holidays and Restricted Holidays.

Optional holidays may be substituted, as specified ("Festival at SI. No. 1,6 and 12 of the Annexure-I, may be replaced in respect of the Hill Districts and the Manipur Bhawans, Kolkota, Delhi and Guwahati by Holidays of local importance after taking prior approval of the Government by 31st January,2017. The above three festivals may, however, be included as Restricted Holidays in the Hill Districts and the Manipur Bhawans.").

Additionally, 6 public holidays in Manipur are listed as falling on a Sunday in 2017 (New Years' Day, Yaosang (Doljatra), Khongjom Day, Kang (Rathajatra), Patriot's Day, and Gaan-Ngai) and 2 of the 2017 Manipur public holidays occur twice each in 2017 (Imoinu Iratpa and Gaan-Ngai).
