Mexico's Asociación de Bancos de México (ABM) and Comisión Nacional Bancaria y de Valores (CNVB) have jointly issued a communiqué announcing that Monday, February 1st, 2016, would be a bank holiday throughout Mexico, on account of the upcoming Constitution Day annual non-working public holiday in Mexico.
The aforementioned announcement that Monday, February 1st, 2016, would be a bank holiday throughout Mexico, on account of the upcoming Constitution Day annual non-working public holiday in Mexico ("bancos y los mercados financieros suspenderán operaciones el próximo lunes 1 de febrero, por el aniversario de la promulgación de la Constitución") is in line with the official list of Mexican 2016 bank holidays ("los días en que las instituciones de crédito deberán cerrar sus puertas y suspender operaciones") which were gazetted in the Diario Oficial de la Federación at the end of last year (2015-12-28) and the 2006 changes to Mexico's public holidays legislation (2006-01-17).
