The Minister of Interior of the Federal Government of Nigeria, Abdulrahman Dambazau, has announced that the Nigerian Federal Government had declared Sunday and Monday, May 29-30, 2016, as a non-working public holiday in Nigeria, on account of the 2016 Democracy Day non-working public holiday of Nigeria.

As usual (2015-05-25, 2014-05-22, 2013-05-24, 2012-04-27, and 2011-05-24), the aforementioned declaration of Sunday, May 29, 2016, as a non-working public holiday in Nigeria, corresponds to the upcoming annual public holiday for Democracy Day, and was accompanied by the declaration of a day in lieu non-working public holiday in Nigeria on Monday, May 30, 2016.
