Earlier tonight, the Government of Rwanda, through its Ministry of Public Service and Labour, issued a communique announcing to the population of Rwanda that Wednesday, July 6, 2016, would be a non-working public holiday throughout Rwanda on account of the upcoming annual Rwandan public holiday to mark Eid Al-Fitr (End of Ramadan).
The aforementioned declaration of Wednesday, July 6, 2016, as a non-working public holiday throughout Rwanda, is in line with last autumn's (01-Nov-2015) release of the full list of official non-working public holidays in Rwanda for the calendar year 2016 by the Rwandan government, as well as the "Arrκtι Presidentiel N°06/01 Du 16/02/2011 Determinant Les Jours Feries Officiels" which overhauled the list of Rwandan non-working public holidays, a few years ago (07-Mar-2011), as well as with the very recent "Presidential Order N°42/03 Of 30/06/2015 Determining Official Holidays" (01-Jul-2015 and 18-May-2015), which since then replaced it, both of which specify that the date of the annual Eid el-Fitr (End of Ramadan) non-working public holiday will be set by the Moslems' Association of Rwanda ("Itariki itangazwa buri mwaka na Rwanda Moslems' Association").
