Sri Lanka's Ministry of Public Administration and Home Affairs has published in the "Gazette of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka", its annual official list of the 12/13 Sri Lankan Poya Day non-working public holidays in Sri Lanka for the upcoming calendar year 2017.
As usual (2015-10-06, 2014-04-07, 2013-04-12 and 2012-04-24), the aforementioned announcement of Sri Lankan Poya Day public holidays for the upcoming calendar year 2017 ("as regards the year 2017, each of the days specified in the Schedule here to shall be Full Moon Poya Days") will be completed at a later date by the announcement of the non-working public holidays for the calendar year 2017 in Sri Lanka (2015-05-29, 2014-06-15 and 2013-07-05) and, at a yet later date, by the announcement of the list of bank holidays in Sri Lanka (2015-08-04, 2014-11-14 and 2013-10-18) for the coming year 2017.
As per the Holidays Act, Section 2., Declaration regarding Full Moon Poya Days and Sundays, (Volume IV - Laws of Sri Lanka) "It is hereby declared that every Full Moon Poya Day and every Sunday - (a) shall be a public holiday; and (b) shall be a Bank holiday".
