Argentina Public Holidays Legislation Changes Again

(Posted on Monday, January 30, 2017)

Source: Boletín Oficial de la República Argentina (Buenos Aires)

The Decreto de Necesidad y Urgencia (Decreto 52/2017), signed last week by Argentine President, Mauricio Macri, and revising the rules governing non-working public holidays in Argentina, is to be amended by a new decree to be published later today in the Boletín Oficial de la República Argentina.

The aforementioned additional Decreto de Necesidad y Urgencia will thus amend the Decreto de Necesidad y Urgencia (Decreto 52/2017), published last week in the Boletín Oficial de la República Argentina (23-Jan-2017), following an announcement the week before (19-Jan-2017).

Although the exact text of today's decree has not yet been released, sources indicate that it will restore the immovable status of the March 24, April 2 and June 20 annual public holidays of Argentina.
