The Government of Armenia has announced, once again, that Monday, April 17, 2017, would be a non-working public holiday in Armenia, on account of the upcoming "Day after the Holy Resurrection of Christ".
As per the aforementioned announcement, the Cabinet will move the upcoming working day of Monday, April 17, 2017, to Saturday, May 6, 2017, extending the Easter non-working public holidays in Armenia for 2017, and thereby amending the list of 2017 public holidays in Armenia as they were announced earlier this year (20-Jan-2017), as it did last year as well (17-Mar-2016).
The year before that (24-Feb-2015), when it released the list of official public holidays in Armenia for the calendar year 2015, the government of Armenia had announced that it would no longer declare a non-working public holiday in Armenia for each of the Merelots ("Commemoration Days of All the Departed") feasts of the lord of Armenian Apostolic Church, ending the practice (19-Nov-2013, 21-Dec-2012 and 16-Dec-2010), begun a few years ago (26-Jun-2008), of declaring public holidays for each of the "Commemoration Days of All the Departed" feasts of the lord of Armenian Apostolic Church (07-Sep-2012, 06-Jul-2012, 06-Apr-2012, 01-Apr-2010, 09-Jul-2010, 13-Aug-2010, and 10-Sep-2010), though this resolution did not last long, with each of the remaining Merelots of the year being declared a public holiday in Armenia, one-by-one (02-Apr-2015, 11-Jul-2015, and 10-Sep-2015).
