Armenian Public Holiday September 18

The Government of Armenia has announced that Monday, September 18, 2017, would once again be a non-working public holiday in Armenia, on account of the upcoming Exaltation of the Life-Giving Cross of the Lord feast (Khachverats), to be compensated by declaring Saturday, September 23, 2017, as a regular working day in Armenia.

As per the aforementioned announcement, the Cabinet will move the upcoming working day of Monday, September 18, 2017, to Saturday, September 23, 2017, in line with the practice, begun a few years ago (2008-06-26), of declaring public holidays for each of the "Commemoration Days of All the Departed" feasts of the lord of Armenian Apostolic Church (2015-07-11, 2013-11-19, 2012-12-21, 2012-09-07, 2012-07-06, 2012-04-06, 2010-12-16, 2010-04-01, 2010-07-09, 2010-08-13, and 2010-09-10), though officially stopped (2015-02-24) when the Armenian government when it released the list of official public holidays in Armenia for the calendar year 2015, and the government of Armenia announced that it would no longer declare a non-working public holiday in Armenia for each of the "Commemoration Days of All the Departed" feasts of the lord of Armenian Apostolic Church.
