Australia 2020 ACT Public Holidays Announced

The Chief Minister's Office of Australia's Capital Territory (ACT) has released the list of the official non-working public holidays to be observed in the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) of Australia, during the calendar year 2020.

The aforementioned list of the official non-working public holidays to be observed in the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) of Australia, during the calendar year 2020, replaces the Family and Community Day public holiday (2017-02-05, 2015-12-07, 2015-01-21, 2012-04-10, 2011-03-02, 2010-07-26, 2009-10-16, 2007-07-30), with the new "Reconciliation Day" ACT public holiday, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the 1967 referendum whose result led to amendments to the Australian constitution to include Aboriginal people in the census and make them subject to Commonwealth law (2017-09-13, 2017-08-172016-08-28 and 2016-06-08).

The aforementioned list of the official non-working public holidays to be observed in the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) of Australia, during the calendar years 2020, also confirms the declaration of Easter Sunday an official public holiday in the ACT (2015-10-31).
