The Director of the Banking Services Directorate of the Central Bank of Bahrain, Besa Abdulla Al Sada, has announced that the Central Bank of Bahrain had declared bank holidays in Bahrain on Sunday and Monday, December 17 an 18, 2017, to mark the upcoming annual National Day bank holiday and the Bahrain bank holiday for the Anniversary of the accession to the throne of King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
As was the case some previous years (2016-12-15, 2011-12-13 and 2010-12-12), but not all (2015-12-13, 2014-12-13 and 2013-12-12), the aforementioned dates does not coincide with the Friday and Saturday weekly days of rest in Bahrain (2006-08-02), leading Acting Director of the Banking Services Directorate of the Central Bank of Bahrain to add that "Therefore, the Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB) will remain closed on Sunday, 17th December, 2017 and Monday, 18th December, 2017 (compensation for Saturday) and will resume operations on Tuesday, 19th December, 2017.", as was recently announced by Bahrain's Prime Minister, Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, in his circular declaring non-working public holidays in Bahrain to mark the upcoming annual National Day and the 17th Anniversary of the accession to the throne of King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa (2017-12-10).
