Bangladesh's Cabinet Division Secretary has announced that the previously-released list of official non-working public holidays in Bangladesh for the calendar year 2017 had been amended by moving the date of the upcoming Eid-e-Miladunnabi (Prophet's Birthday) annual non-working public holiday of Bangladesh, to Saturday, December 2, 2017.
Today's aforementioned announcement that the annual Eid-e-Miladunnabi (birthday of the Prophet Mohammad) non-working public holiday in Bangladesh would be observed on Saturday, December 2, 2017, instead of December 1st, follows the announcement by the Chairman of Bangladesh's National Moon Sighting Committee that the moon of the month of Rabiul Awal Hijri 1439 had not been sighted in Bangladesh's sky yesterday and therefore that the annual Eid-e-Miladunnabi (birthday of the Prophet Mohammad), would be observed on Saturday, December 2, 2017.
The announcements are in contrast with the Memo no.- 05.00.0000.173.08.005.12-270, dated 14 Agrahayana, 1423 Bengali Era of the Ministry of Public Administration, Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh (2017-03-23 and 2016-12-03) which announced the official list of non-working public holidays in Bangladesh for the calendar year 2017, as concerns the dates of the 2017 public holidays in Bangladesh.
