The Royal Civil Service Commission of the Government of Bhutan has released its annual official list of national and regional non-working public holidays in Bhutan for the upcoming calendar year 2018, and for 2019 until the Losar Lunar New Year public holiday of Bhutan, comprising the end of the present Year of the Fire Female Bird and most of the upcoming Year of the Earth Male Dog.
The aforementioned list of 2018 public holidays in Bhutan also confirms the recent move of the March 20 Gross National Happiness non-working public holiday throughout Bhutan in observance of the United Nations' International Day of Happiness, from it original date of March 20, but once again does not even mention it on November 11, the date of the Anniversary of the 4th Druk Gyalpo (2014-01-30, 2013-03-15 and 2012-07-06), to which it was to be adjoined.
In addition, we can always expect the last minute declaration of a public holiday to mark the first snowfall of the year (2016-01-20, 2014-03-05 and 2013-01-20), although the idea of a public holiday for the anniversary of the First Gyatsey seems abandoned (2016-02-06).
