The central bank of the Czech Republic, the Czech National Bank, has announced its annual list of the annual Czech bank holidays and Czech public holidays for calendar year 2018 in the Czech Republic, based on the recently-amended legislation regulating non-working public holidays in the Czech Republic.

As per custom (2016-11-19, 2015-11-05, 2014-10-26, 2013-10-27, 2012-11-17, 2011-09-23, 2010-08-29 and 2009-10-01), the bank has re-iterated the fact that public holidays in the Czech Republic do not follow the "sliding holiday" concept, that is to say that when a fixed-date public holiday falls on a Saturday or Sunday, the following Monday is a normal business day.

The aforementioned list of the Czech bank holidays and Czech public holidays for calendar year 2018 in the Czech Republic, includes Good Friday, which was added to the list of annual non-working public holidays in the Czech Republic, 2 years ago (2016-01-07, 2015-12-03, 2015-10-24), after many years of discussions (2010-04-08, 2007-02-07 and 2006-11-03).
