The Eritrean government has announced its list of annual official national and religious non-working public holidays in Eritrea for the calendar year 2017.
In many past years (2013-03-23 and 2012-01-03), but not all (2014-01-03), the announced dates of Muslim public holidays in Eritrea followed, or even preceded, those calculated by the Umm al-Qura calendar used by Saudi Arabia, and were often later changed at the last-minute (2010-09-08 and 2009-09-18). This was not the case for the list of annual official national and religious non-working public holidays in Eritrea of the past 2 years (2016-05-21 and 2015-01-04).
