The Office of the President of the Gambia, Adama Barrow, has announced that he had declared December 25, December 26 and January 1, 2018, as non-working public holidays throughout the Gambia, "in honour of Christmas, the birthday of Jesus Christ, son of Holy Mary and the New Year".
The aforementioned announcement that December 25, December 26 and January 1, 2018, had been declared as a public holidays throughout the Gambia to commemorate Christmas and the New Year, is in line with what happened last year, when December 26 was declared a public holiday in the Gambia, for the first time.
