India 2017 Maharashtra Public Holidays February 16 and 21

The Government of India's state of Maharashtra has declared 2 one-off non-working public holidays for its employees on Thursday, February 16, and Tuesday, February 21, 2017, on account of the upcoming Maharashtra state polling days.

The aforementioned declaration of Thursday, February 16, and Tuesday, February 21, 2017, on account of the upcoming Maharashtra state polling days, is in addition to last autumn's notification of the annual list of the days which will be non-working public holidays in India's state of Maharashtra for the upcoming calendar year 2017, as contained in Notification No.PHD.1116/C.R.138/XXIX dated 19.11.2016, and issued by the General Administration department of Maharashtra (2016-11-20).

Similar, one-off, public holidays were also declared on the occasion of preceding state polls (2012-02-13 and 2007-01-29).
