At this week's Cainet meeting, led by the Chief Minister of India's state of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, it was announced that the annual list of the days which are non-working public holidays in India's state of Uttar Pradesh for the calendar year 2017, would be reduced by as many as 15.
The aforementioned "cancellation of 15 holidays" that were declared to mark the birth and death anniversaries of various eminent personalities, and which had been added to the annual list of non-working public holidays in India's state of Uttar Pradesh, by the previous Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and Samajwadi Party (SP) governments, in fact covers mainly school holidays, with the exception of the Prophet's Birthday (Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi) public holiday of India's state of Uttar Pradesh, whose cancellation thus amends last autumn's (2016-12-04) notification of the annual list of the days which will be non-working public holidays in India's state of Uttar Pradesh for the calendar year 2017, as contained in the Order no: 13/2016/740/3-2016-39(2)/2016, issued by the Anubhag General Administration Department of the Indian State of Uttar Pradesh.
