The government of the Ivory Coast, through its Ministère de l'Emploi, des Affaires Sociales et de la Solidarité Nationale, has announced that it had declared Friday, December 1, 2017, as the date of the annual national non-working public holiday (jour férié et chômé sur toute l'étendue du territoire national) on account of the upcoming Maoulid (the Prophet's Birthday) in the Ivory Coast in 2017.
Contrary to some previous announcements (2016-04-29, 2013-01-22), though not all (2016-03-25, 2015-12-15 and 2014-01-10), the Government's announcement that Friday, December 1, 2017, had been declared as the date of the second annual national non-working public holiday on account of the upcoming Maouloud (the Prophet's Birthday), did not need to invoke Article 2 of the Décret n°96-205 du 07 mars 1996 (1996-05-09).
