The Governor of the Central Bank of Jordan has issued a Memorandum which announces a bank holiday on Thursday, May 25, 2017, on account of the annual Independence Day non-working Jordanian public holiday and bank holiday.
In a separate, and probably preceding, announcement, Jordan's Prime Minister, Abdullah Ensour, also announced that this year's annual Independence Day non-working public holiday of Jordan would be observed on its traditional date of May 25, and would not be moved to another date as has sometimes been the case in recent years.
The aforementioned announcement of a bank holiday on Thursday, May 25, 2017, on account of the annual non-working Jordanian public holiday of Independence Day, is in line with the previously-released (2016-10-15), list of annual non-working bank holidays and public holidays in Jordan for the calendar year 2017.
