The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Bakhytzhan Sagintayev, has finally signed a decree officializing the list of non-working public holidays in the Republic of Kazakhstan, including bridge holidays and compensatory working Saturdays, for the upcoming calendar year 2017.

Today's announcement finally makes official last autumn's announcement by the Ministry of Health and Social Development of the government of Kazakhstan confirming last spring's issuance by the Ministry of Health and Social Development of the government of Kazakhstan of a surprisingly early draft (2016-05-31) of the annual list of non-working public holidays in the Republic of Kazakhstan for the calendar year 2017, in contrast to previous years (2016-01-13, 2015-01-17, 2013-12-26, 2013-02-18, 2012-02-17 and 2011-01-14), when the list of non-working public holidays in the Republic of Kazakhstan would be announced either in December or January, sometimes even February of the year in question, to be later followed by amendments, as regards to days in lieu and bridge holidays and compensatory working Saturdays (2016-03-28, 2016-03-14, 2016-03-03,...).

As we mentioned last spring, when the government of Kazakhstan released the draft of the annual list of non-working public holidays in Kazakhstan for the calendar year 2017, the early announcement of the list of non-working public holidays in the Republic of Kazakhstan for the calendar year 2017, including bridge holidays and compensatory working Saturdays, was made at the behest of MPs who had besieged the government of Kazakhstan to announce public holidays in Kazakhstan for the coming years, much earlier.

However, despite an auspicious early draft to the list of non-working public holidays in the Republic of Kazakhstan, including bridge holidays and compensatory working Saturdays, the final official decree comes no earlier than usual.
