The Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of Kazakhstan has released the annual list of 2018 public holidays in Kazakhstan ("On Holidays in the Republic of Kazakhstan"), the days in which national and state holidays are celebrated in Kazakhstan are recognized as holidays in accordance with the labor legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Last year was not the case, and a surprisingly early draft of the annual list of non-working public holidays in the Republic of Kazakhstan for the upcoming calendar year 2017 was released in the spring of the preceding year (2016-05-31), at the behest of MPs who had besieged the government of Kazakhstan to announce public holidays in Kazakhstan for the coming years, much earlier.
This year, however, the announcement of the 2018 public holidays in Kazakhstan is back to a relatively late date and, most importantly, does not include bridge holidays and compensatory working Saturdays.
