The government cabinet of Kosovo has announced that Kosovar Prime Minister, Ramush Haradinaj, had finally made November 28, neighboring Albania's independence day, a non-working day in Kosovo.
The Law on Official Holidays, passed almost ten years ago (24-May-2008) incorporated three holidays requested by Albanian deputies, including November 28, but only as an observance day (ie. not a non-working public holiday).
Then, in late 2012, the Kosovo Assembly had approved amendments to the current Law on Official Holidays to include November 28 as a new annual public holiday to commemorate the Flag Day of Kosovo (20-Nov-2012). However, since then all the annual declarations of public holidays in Kosovo (13-Jan-2017, 09-Jan-2017, 11-Jan-2016, 07-Jan-2016, 28-Nov-2014, 08-Jan-2014 and 11-Jan-2013), neglected to include November 28.
