The Kuwaiti Civil Service Commission has announced that it had declared Saturday and Sunday, February 25-26, 2017, as non-working public holidays for the upcoming National Day and Liberation Day annual public holidays, without, this time, a day in lieu public holiday due to the upcoming Liberation Day annual public holiday falling on a weekend day in Kuwait.
Despite the fact that, this year, as was the case last year (2016-02-15), the announced dates of the non-working public holidays for the upcoming 2017 National Day and Liberation Day annual public holidays, overlap a weekend in Kuwait (2007-08-04 and 2007-06-03), no day in lieu public holiday was declared to compensate the upcoming Liberation Day annual public holiday falling on a weekend day in Kuwait ("normal work will resume on Monday Feb 27"), as was done on past occasions (2012-02-16 and 2011-01-22), though only for the public sector.
