Madagascar's Conseil de Gouvernement has taken into advisement the "Projet de décret fixant la liste des jours fériés, chômés et payés au titre de l’année 2017", which declares the list of non-working public holidays in Madagascar for the calendar year 2017.

As per custom (2016-01-05, 2015-02-05, 2014-02-13, 2013-01-30, 2012-01-18, 2011-01-15, 2010-01-20, 2009-01-13 and 2008-01-16), the aforementioned list of 2017 Madagascar public holidays, is based upon the recommendation of Madagascar's Ministère de la Fonction publique, du Travail et des Lois sociales.

The aforementioned list of non-working public holidays in Madagascar for the calendar year 2017, which had been expected much earlier in January (2017-01-03), confirms the cancellation, 3 years ago (2014-12-04), of the December 11 public holiday which was created at the end of 2010 (2010-12-10).

In the aforementioned list of 2017 Madagascar public holidays, there are public holidays reserved for Muslims, as was done some years (2014-02-13 and 2013-01-30), but not all (2016-01-05, 2015-04-30 and 2015-03-26).
