The President of the Maldives, Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom, has decided to extend the upcoming Eid ul-Fitr holidays annual public holidays in the Maldives, by 2 days, by declaring additional non-working public holidays in the Maldives on Wednesday and Thursday, June 28 and 29, 2017.
As per the text of the today's announcement, "The two consecutive days following the day of Eid ul-Fitr are predetermined holidays on the occasion of the celebration. Government offices will reopen after the holidays on Sunday, 2nd July.", and the previously-announced (2017-01-09), list of 2017 public holidays in the Maldives has thus been amended as was the case last year (2016-07-28 and 2016-07-12).
