The Ministry of the Interior of the Federal Government of Pakistan has amended the dates for the upcoming Eid-ulAzha (Feast of sacrifice) annual non-working public holidays throughout Pakistan for the calendar year 2017, extending the upcoming Eid-ulAzha non-working public holidays period to a total of 4 consecutive days.
As per the aforementioned announcement, the upcoming 2017 Eid-ul Azha public holidays in Pakistan will run from Friday, September 1, until Monday, September 4, 2017, which is 2 days longer than what was announced in the "expected dates for public and optional holidays for the calendar year 2017" published by the Government of Pakistan at the end of last year (2016-12-25).
A similar extension, though not a shift, of the Eid-ul-Fitr (End of Ramadan) public holidays throughout Pakistan for the calendar year 2016, was made earlier this summer by expanding these annual Pakistani public holidays to last 3 days (2017-06-07).
