The Peruvian executive has issued the "Decreto Supremo Nº 022-2017-TR" declaring 2 days in April 2017 as one-off non-working public holidays in Peru, on account of the upcoming 7th Summit of the Americas ("la VII Cumbre de las Américas").
As per the aforementioned announcement ("Declaran días no laborables a nivel de Lima Metropolitana y la Provincia Constitucional del Callao para trabajadores de los Sectores Público y Privado durante el mes de abril de 2018." and "Artículo 1.- Declarar días no laborables, a nivel de Lima Metropolitana y Provincia Constitucional del Callao, para los trabajadores de los Sectores Público y Privado, los días viernes 13 y sábado 14 de abril de 2018."), these public holidays will apply to the Peruvian capital, Lima, and the Province of Callao (where the Lima International Airport, and Peru's main harbor are).
Similar one-off public holidays were declared over the years in the Peruvian capital, Lima, and the Province of Callao for various summits, such as the EU/Latin America/Caribbean and APEC summits, the ASPA Summit (Cumbre de Jefes de Estado y de Gobierno de América del Sur y Países Árabes), as well as the IMF and World Bank Summit (2016-08-13, 2015-09-29, 2015-09-12, 2012-09-27, 2012-09-17, 2012-09-14, 2011-02-10, 2011-01-27, 2008-11-19, 2008-02-07).
The announcement that April 13-14, 2018, would be one-off non-working public holidays in Peru, on account of the upcoming 7th Summit of the Americas, is in addition to the list of 2018 public holidays in Peru, as released, earlier this week, by the government of Peru (2017-12-26).
