As per the "Decreto Supremo N° 019-2017-TR", on that date, the population will get a public holiday, for the private as well as public sectors ("Ejecutivo declaró este domingo 22 de octubre jornada no laborable para los trabajadores públicos y privados"), but is expected to stay at home to ensure census officials can find them ("la jornada no laborable tendrá vigencia en todo el país entre las 8:00 y 17:00 horas del domingo, tiempo en el cual se ha dispuesto la inamovilidad de la población para garantizar que los peruanos esperen en sus domicilios a los voluntarios del censo").

The next day, Monday, October 23, 2017, will be a non-working public holiday in Peru for those that were Census officers ("El lunes 23 de octubre será día no laborable, pero compensable, para los trabajadores que ejerzan la función de empadronadores.").
