Qatar's Emiri Diwan has once again extended the Eid al-Adha public sector holidays, for ministries, government departments, general authorities and institutions, so that they will be on holiday for 10 days for the upcoming Eid Al Adha (Feast of Sacrifice) public holidays.
As per the aforementioned announcement, public sector holidays, for ministries, other government departments, authorities and public institutions, for the upcoming Eid al-Adha (Feast of Sacrifice) "will last a week starting from Thursday, August 31, 2017 (Dhul Hijja 9, 1438 H) and ending on Thursday, September 7, 2017 (Dhul Hijja 16, 1438 H). On Sunday, September 10, 2017 (Dhul Hijja 19, 1438 H) employees will resume work".
Qatar often extends its annual Eid public sector holidays (2017-06-21, 2016-09-05, 2016-06-28, 2015-09-21, 2015-07-09, 2014-10-01, 2014-07-23, 2013-10-10, 2012-10-15, 2012-08-14, 2012-08-04, 2011-08-24, 2010-08-09 and 2008-09-17), but not systematically (2009-09-18).
The Qatar Central Bank (QCB), as well as Qatari banks and financial institutions and the Qatar Exchange will, as usual, make a separate announcement.
