Romanian Senate Rejects March 15 Public Holiday

The Romanian Senate has rejected a bill to make March 15, a new annual non-working public holiday in Romania to have been named "The Day of the Hungarian Community".

Late last year (17-Nov-2016 and 07-Oct-2016), January 24 and June 1 were declared as a new annual non-working public holidays in Romania. Before that, the last time a new non-working public holiday was declared in Romania being 4 years before (27-Jun-2012 and 22-May-2012), when Saint Andrew was declared as a new annual, November 30, non-working public holiday in Romania.
