The Romanian Senate has rejected a bill to make March 15, a new annual non-working public holiday in Romania to have been named "The Day of the Hungarian Community".
Late last year (2016-11-17 and 2016-10-07), January 24 and June 1 were declared as a new annual non-working public holidays in Romania. Before that, the last time a new non-working public holiday was declared in Romania being 4 years before (2012-06-27 and 2012-05-22), when Saint Andrew was declared as a new annual, November 30, non-working public holiday in Romania.
