The National Moon-Sighting Commission of Sénégal (Commission nationale d'observation du croissant lunaire - CNOCL) has announced that the upcoming Tabaski (Aid el Kébir, aka. Feast of Sacrifice) annual non-working public holiday would be on Saturday, September 2, 2017.
As is often the case (2015-09-17, 2014-09-26, 2013-10-09, 2011-08-30 and 2007-12-18), many Senegalese Muslim communities, such as the Coordination des musulmans de Dakar, have announced that they would not follow the recommendations of the CNOCL and instead would follow the dates announced by Saudi Arabia.
