The Consell de la Generalitat Valenciana has approved its previously-announced annual official calendar of non-working public holidays in Spain's autonomous region of Valencia ("calendario laboral en toda la Comunidad Valenciana") for the upcoming calendar year 2018.

Late last month (2017-06-29), the Consell de la Generalitat Valenciana had announced its annual official calendar of non-working public holidays in Spain's autonomous region of Valencia ("calendario laboral en toda la Comunidad Valenciana") for the upcoming calendar year 2018, in which it decided, as sometimes happens (2016-06-21, 2014-07-11, 2013-09-17 and 2009-11-09), to remove Maundy Thursday from the 2018 list of non-working public holidays in Spain's autonomous region of Valencia.

One interesting additional tidbit to come out of today's announcement, is that the council has decided to ask the government to automatically declare June 24 (San Juan) as a regional public holiday in Spain's autonomous region of Valencia, whenever March 19 or October 9 falls on a Sunday ("el Consell pedirá al Gobierno central flexibilidad y más libertad para poder incluir el día de San Juan, el 24 de junio, como festividad en la Comunitat y se compromete a que cuando el 9 d'Octubre o el día de San José caiga domingo, trasladar ese festivo automáticamente a San Juan.").
