The government of Thailand has announced a change in the date of the date of the 2018 Royal Ploughing Ceremony annual non-working public holiday, as compared to the one announced earlier this year, then in anticipation of the release of the list of official annual non-working public holidays in Thailand for the upcoming calendar year 2018.

As per the aforementioned announcement, the 2018 Royal Ploughing Ceremony non-working public holiday will be observed on Monday, May 14, 2018, as compared to Thursday, May 10, 2018, as had been announced in June (2017-06-05), before the list of 2018 public holidays in Thailand were announced (2017-10-29).

Even with today's change of date, this is still the 7th consecutive year (2016-08-14, 2015-11-03, 2014-12-08, 2013-12-26, 2012-11-30 and 2011-12-08) that the Royal Ploughing Ceremony public holiday is announced well in advance.

Previously, the Royal Ploughing Ceremony public holiday was usually declared a couple of weeks before the actual event (2009-04-26), and months after the remainder of the list of Thai non-working public holidays had been announced (2011-08-20 and 2010-08-27).
