The Minister of Labour of the government of Togo has announced that, as per an earlier decision of the Union musulmane du Togo (UMT), Friday, September 1, 2017, had been declared as the date of the annual non-working public holiday throughout Togo for the upcoming Aīd al-Kébir (Feast of Sacrifice, aka. Tabaski).
As usual (2016-09-06, 2015-09-23, 2015-07-16, 2014-07-26, 2013-07-09 and 2011-11-02) the dates announced by the Union Musulmane du Togo via its president, El Hadj Inoussa Bouraïma, are based on the Saudi Umm al-Qura calendar (2016-09-01), and are in line with the list of official non-working public holidays in 2017 in Togo, as announced earlier this year (2017-01-20).
